Getting people to forget an old brand if you buy an old business.

We want to see where the biggest challenges are so that we can create some training and resources to better support the needs of our local businesses.

Social media is my biggest marketing need because that is where 99% of business comes from. The challenge is sometimes your product isn’t being shown on social media due to the algorithms, so it puts creatives in a pickle. My current challenge is having a place for my business but not spending $$$$$$ on rent per month, or limited places to rent in the area.

I think small to medium sized business owners need to be taught how to do digital marketing and use analytics on their own rather than relying on digital marketing companies who charge fees that can be outside their budget. It would be best to have these skills taught to them by someone who doesn’t have any skin in the game so to speak so there’s no “pitch” at the end of the lesson.

Getting the community familar with who we are and what we do. More exposure :)

Offline! It seems impossible to get information to users who dont have social media or visit us often.

Getting my name into the hands of the people who need it when they need it not "oh I'll keep you in mind if something comes up "

Picking the right slogan.

I'm a senior PR and Advertising student at Point Park University. I have noticed some inconsistencies from local businesses on social media while doing research for assignments on marketing plans here in Johnstown. One of the big things I have noticed is businesses that have social media accounts do not seem to have a schedule for posts. I have seen post being made at odd hours and some posts do not even pertain to the business. I think a workshop on how to write/produce good posts as well as social media tools such as post scheduler (like Hootsuite) would be beneficial to local businesses.

How to hit my target audience in a meaningful way, and also developing a solid brand strategy without breaking the budget.

Hi! I think for me, especially, is that I am strictly an online business so unless I spend a lot of money on an SEO specialist or online marketing plan, I struggle. I have no problem connecting with people it’s getting people to my site. Also, I am working with a local business woman to attempt to try to bring more business up here to the Westmont plaza area with all the vacant buildings. I would love to see more small business and entrepreneurs working together to attract more business this way. Thank YOU guys for all you do!!

Cambria Regional Chamber excellent engagement tool - I could see this becoming a recurring chamber offering - a weekly type question applicable to many businesses- well done! From a SM perspective, it might be helpful to understand what are the most popular platforms and which people tend to use each. I am often struggling with this…
